Rachel Sargeant is an author of suspense and crime fiction, including the Gloucestershire Crime Series with Hobeck Books and psychological thrillers with HarperCollins. Under the pen name of Rae Starling she writes dark, horror-adjacent thrillers for Hera Books, part of Canelo.

Rachel won Writing Magazine’s Crime Short Story competition and has been placed or shortlisted in various competitions including the Bristol Short Story Prize. She has lived in Wales, London, Shropshire and Germany and is now based in Gloucestershire with her family. She has a PhD from the University of Birmingham.
