This month I invited author friends to share one of their Rave Reads of the Year. It was a delight to see their choices and pick up tips for what to read next. The thirty participating authors write in a variety of genres: feelgood, romance, crime, thriller, saga, military fiction, literary, short story, science fiction, historical fiction, young adult, cosy, and romantic comedy.  

Their choices were equally varied: women’s contemporary fiction, war fiction, historical, romcom, travel writing, literary, timeslip, romantasy, action thriller, young adult, memoir, historical crime, crime thriller, spy thriller, fantasy and romance. There were also two Booker prizewinning novels among the choices, and two authors picked the same book, a dystopian literary thriller.
