Spotlight on Julie Anderson
Spotlight on Julie Anderson
It’s a challenge for me as an author with a new pen name to gain visibility so I’m grateful to several talented and respected authors – some I know personally; some I don’t know at all – who provided wonderful early reviews of An Ordinary House.
As a thank you to them for taking time out of their busy schedules to read and write about my book, I’m featuring each author on my blog with a spotlight on their work.
Julie Anderson is the author of the Cassandra Fortune Trilogy, three Whitehall thrillers that explore themes of corruption and moral decay, driven by a global class of the criminal super-rich for whom power and money are the only motivations. Julie’s previous career as a senior civil servant in Whitehall and Westminster made her well-placed to describe the workings of Parliament. It’s no surprise the third book in the series, Opera, was longlisted for the Crime Writers’ Association Ian Fleming Steel Dagger Award for Best Adventure Thriller.
Her most recent project has been the Clapham Trilogy, a trio of gripping mysteries set in the 1940s in Clapham, South London. As well as being cracking reads, they are well-researched, especially about women in nursing and policing in the post-war years. As a result, Julie’s become a speaker on the history of the South London Hospital for Women and Children.
Away from writing her novels, she reviews for Time and Leisure Magazine and Aspects of Crime, and she is chair of the trustees of the Clapham Book Festival.

Julie Anderson had this to say about An Ordinary House:
'An Ordinary House' is an extraordinary book, which challenges and expands the definition of the psychological thriller. A story about survival against all the odds and the capacity of the human brain to protect itself and absorb countless shocks and mistreatments, it is also a gripping and immersive read. As a character in the novel says “Time for a twist?” you will not see the ending coming. Highly recommended.’
